Use the pressure history to frame the investigation
A pressure reading that repeatedly drops is useful evidence, but it does not identify a single failed component. Note when the reading changes, whether the boiler has stopped operating and whether there is any visible water around accessible pipework. Send a photograph of the display or gauge without removing a cover.
Tell us whether anyone has recently worked on a radiator or the system. Repeatedly adding water can obscure the pattern and is not a substitute for finding the cause; do not attempt unfamiliar filling or repair procedures. The initial investigation may lead to a separate repair recommendation, and we explain expected time and labour before you agree additional work.
Gas work. Any work on gas appliances or pipework must be carried out by an appropriately qualified, Gas Safe registered engineer. Tell us what the job involves and we will discuss how it will be handled before booking.
For a Pimlico lower-ground-floor home or a flat within a larger building, let us know how your services connect to the rest of the property. A below-street-level position changes the access questions but does not, by itself, establish why a fault has occurred.
Mention steps to a separate entrance, the route through the property and who holds keys to shared cupboards. If external alterations are proposed, check the property’s status against Westminster’s conservation guidance rather than assume the whole postcode has the same rules.

Good to know.
Does low pressure always mean the boiler needs replacing?
No. The cause may lie elsewhere in the system or involve a repairable component. An inspection is needed before discussing repair versus replacement, rather than using one gauge reading as a diagnosis.
What does heating cost in Pimlico?
£120 + VAT per hour (£144 inc VAT), with a one hour minimum. Before any extra work we give an estimated duration and expected labour cost for you to agree.
