A smart thermostat must match the system it controls
A controller upgrade starts with identifying the heating arrangement, not choosing an app. Provide the current thermostat and programmer details and say whether there are separate zones, a cylinder or building-managed heating. A product marketed as compatible with many systems is not proof that it suits yours.
If the existing control has stopped responding, describe whether the display, heating demand or actual room temperature seems wrong. Wiring and appliance interfaces must be assessed by someone competent to do the relevant work. Do not open electrical controls or bridge connections. We agree the proposed control work and any limits rather than promise that a new thermostat will cure every heating symptom.
Gas work. Any work on gas appliances or pipework must be carried out by an appropriately qualified, Gas Safe registered engineer. Tell us what the job involves and we will discuss how it will be handled before booking.
